Mountains have trapped man's imagination since immemorial times, not being few the civilisations that considered them to be supernatural beings or deities, to which it was appropriate to honour with offerings and even human sacrifices.
Today, the magic of the mountains has not vanished, its spell remains and attracts thousands, perhaps millions of men and women that wish to crown their remote, distant and seductive summits.
Mexico, a land of mountains, has a series of destinations perfect for the practice of this activity, being Guadalajara one of them, because the Tequila Volcano, at 2940 metres above sea level, is on the outskirts of the homonymous town, famous for being the birthplace of the renowned Mexican beverage.
Other zones well attended by this activity's enthusiasts are the mountains of the Oblatos - Huentitán Ravine, north of the Municipality of Guadalajara, between the limits of Tonala and Zapotlanejo. It is a gathering place for eco tourism devotees.
