Will I have problems exchanging my money or paying with dollars?
It is possible to pay with dollars in most of the hotel and establishments related to the tourist industry with no problem whatsoever. On the other hand, small shops only take Mexican pesos, as is the case in the smaller towns of Barranca del Cobre (carry some change with you and bank notes of small denominations for such occasions).
Regarding exchanging your money, it is better to do it in Chihuahua; it is easier there and you will get a better rate.

Will my credit cards be accepted?
As is the case with dollars, credit cards are accepted with no inconvenience at all in hotels and commercial establishments related to the tourist industry, and the most accepted ones are Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Is it advisable to carry traveller checks?
No, since they are not easily cashed-in in the towns of Barranca del Cobre; besides, the exchange rate is not that good.

How much should I tip?
Although it is not mandatory, it is usual to leave between 10 and 15 percent of the total consumption; the tip is included on the bill in some restaurants. Porters get between 50 cents and 1 dollar per piece of luggage and the maidservants at the hotels a dollar per day.
