COZUMELHOW TO GET THERE
The Caribbean Sea separates Cozumel from continental Mexico. It is an 18-kilometre distance that has to be cleaved on high seas aboard the commodity of the ferries or shuttles weighing anchor at Playa del Carmen, in Cancun, to get to this magic and amazing Island.
Close to 25 vessels make the journey daily, from 5:00 in the morning till 21:00 hours. The trip takes 45 minutes approximately and the cost of the ticket is quite reasonable.
If you wish to save a few bucks you can always board the smaller boats with no real comfort that make the same route, although these boats cover the distance in one hour. Whatever service you choose, you will most probably enjoy the company of dolphins.
In case you have a car, you can take Highway 307 leading to Puerto Morelos, at 35 kilometres from Cancun, where you can embark to Cozumel along with your vehicle.
Another alternative is to arrive by air; Cozumel has an international airport located two kilometres north of San Miguel, the only founded City on the Island. There are charter flights departing from Cancun bound to the largest Island in Mexico.
