The weather conditions in the State of Veracruz are very variegated, because its territory presents a series of environments and geographic regions, from coastal zones up to the highest summit in Mexico, the Orizaba Peak at 5700 metres, one of the colossuses of the Eastern Sierra Madre.
The climates in the State of Veracruz are the following:
- Warm Humid: it is dominant in 80 percent of the territory of Veracruz; it is present from the coastal plains of the Northern and Southern Gulfs up to a maximum height of 1000 metres. Here the annual average temperature is of 22º Celsius, with a minimum of 18º Celsius; pluvial precipitations can be unleashed at anytime of the year.
- Semi Warm Humid: it is proper of the Cities of Tlapacoyan, Xalapa and Orizaba, located at heights of between 1000 and 1600 metres; in these zones the average temperature fluctuates between 18º and 22º Celsius; rain showers are constant throughout the year.
