Besides, the museum has a valuable collection of close to 20 thousand books from the XVI up to the XIX centuries, kept at the Elias Amador Library.
Inaugurated in 1983, it has the former Jesuit school of San Luis Gonzaga (1616-1767), which later was to be in the hands of the Dominicans, as its seat. During the reform of 1859, its cloisters would be turned into the cells of a prison, a condition they maintained until the 1960s.

Rafael Coronel Museum: it shows all the beauty of popular art; its most important collections are "The Mexican Countenance", with more than five thousand masks, "In Times of the Colony", which presents close to one thousand small terracotta figures from the XVII and XVIII centuries, "The Hall of the Pot", with a singular variety of pre Hispanic vessels, and "The Sessions of Rosette Aranda", with puppets from the XIX and early XX centuries.
Original Royal Certificates of the City (with the title and coat of arms) granted by King Felipe II in the final years of the XVI century, and a banner received in 1593, are also exhibited in this museum that has the former Convent of San Francisco as its seat; they all occupy a preponderant place in the sacristy of the temple.
Likewise, works that artist Rafael Coronel made exclusively for the museum are exhibited in the chapel.

Capture of Zacatecas Museum: it evokes the epic battle of June the 23rd of 1914 between the revolutionary forces and the federal troops. In this historic clash the insurgent forces, led by Francisco "Pancho" Villa (The Centaur of the North), were the victors.
This museum was inaugurated on the 60th anniversary of the battle known as "The Capture of Zacatecas". Here visitors will discover the battle positions and motivations on both sides through models (with the positions and military strategies), newspapers, old documents and photos of that period.
It also shows pieces of artillery (cannons, machineguns, rifles and pistols), coins, bank notes and photographic portraits of the most important characters involved in this historic deed.
